Dual Language is a program that began at EES in the 2001-2002 School Year. In this program mixed groups of Spanish-dominant and English-dominant students learn both languages side-by-side. Our Dual Language Program consists of the same three components as the ELA  program: Native Language Literacy, English/Spanish as a Second Language, and Sheltered Content Instruction in Math, Science and Social Studies (50% in English, 50% in Spanish). The goal of the Dual Language program is for all children to be bilingual, bi-literate and bicultural.

 Currently all of our Kinder through 2^nd grade classes are Dual Language with 4 classes at each grade level. In 3^rd through 5^th grades we have 2 Dual Language classes per grade level.
